Major Ben Rogers is brutal to his ranch hand and rough with his wife. After both leave him, he has a breakdown in the Blue Bonnet saloon in which he reenacts a battle that has haunted him since the war. He's let people believe he's a hero, when in fact he was court martialed for leaving his men in a crucial battle.
